Why we built it
As agents and workflows get more capable, the durable pieces — graphs of knowledge, tool connections, where inference runs — too easily get locked into a vendor. We built Doso so those foundations remain portable and under your control.
Benefit
Build graphs and workflows you can keep. Connect third-party services through your own accounts, run locally or anywhere you host, and swap models when you want.
Thesis
Knowledge and workflows compound only if they stay yours. Ownership of graphs, connections, hosting, and inference should not be the price of using an agent stack.
Findings
- Teams want agent workflows without surrendering the graph they build over time.
- Flexible hosting and model choice matter as much as the orchestration layer — lock-in shows up at the edges.
- Local CLIs and self-owned connections keep real work reachable without routing every action through a single SaaS.
How this feeds Hamster
Hamster Studio helps teams align on direction and ship with shared context. Doso is research into keeping the underlying graphs and tool connections portable — so the knowledge you accumulate stays an asset you control, not a silo you rent.
