The job map becomes the demand-side structure for your roadmap. First, generate desired outcome statements for each step. Then survey customers to score each outcome on importance and satisfaction. Steps with high-importance, low-satisfaction outcomes are your biggest opportunities. Map your current and planned features against these opportunities to see where you are investing and where you have gaps. What if my team disagrees about which universal step an activity belongs to?

The antidote is a deliberate review pass where you read each step description and ask: would this description make sense to a customer who has never heard of our product or any competitor's product? Schedule this as a specific review step, not an afterthought.
